Why is the need form the project? | "The major challenges of the contemporary society require that individuals possess a global knowledge grounded on values and attitudes that can foster a more sustainable and inclusive world. Although the level of integration of Global Citizenship Education (GCE) differs greatly among the education systems of the 10 EU partner countries, in general terms all curricula fall short in this task and are not fit to equip children with the competences necessary to the citizens of today’s global world." |

(If you project is less than 1 year old feel free to ignore this question) | In some partner countries, Global Schools has started collecting some notable successes in establishing a fruitful cooperation between CSOs and Local Authorities. In Italy, the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, a political body gathering all Regional Administrations has approved an official document calling for GCE to be placed at the core of national and international policies regulating both the educational and development cooperation fields. In the UK, the structure for school improvement in Cumbria (CASL) will draft a policy statement expressing support to embedding GCE across all schools and they will provide a small co-funding to this aim. In other countries more institutions are supporting the process. |
