13. Project background: Why is the project taking place? Why is the need form the project? | The "raison-d'etre" of the project is the actual need to enhance the capacities and promote the role of Local Authorities (LAs) as Drivers for change at the level where development takes actually place. Being at the closest of citizens, their potential in raising awareness and engaging citizens at local level on development issues is considerably high, but until now this potential has not been developed sufficiently. |

RESEARCH Component: 5 documents produced in order to enhance knowledge about DEAR & SDGs + Survey to measure DEAR knowledge submitted to 1268 representatives 2. CAPACITY BUILDING & PEER-TO-PEER EDUCATION Component: 123 capacity building activities (trainings, focus groups, job shadowing and workshop) & a major event on exchange of DEAR best practices + 1 methodological handbook 3. ADVOCACY Component: 6 Thematic Paths & 3 Geographical Paths (39 Statements, reaction papers & advocacy documents + 21 events) 4. GRASS-ROOTS ACTIONS Component: 773 proposals received for the Slogan Competition from kids around Europe - 64 Citizens Journalists and more than 120 articles about development - 73 micro projects supported by LADDER in 25 Member States 5. CREATIVE CULTURAL Component: 1 theatre play performed 10 times around Europe 6 Handbooks produced for the visibility of the project about the different components of it. |
