13. Project background: Why is the project taking place? Why is the need form the project?The action addresses youth organizations which are not dealing with global development issues. They may work in a sphere recognized or not as a theme of GL, but seen only in a local context. However, having in consideration the interconnected and interdependent world we live in, their activities would always relate to different global issues. Through series of actions the youth organizations will be introduced to the related global issues and recognize the connections of their work with them.

(If you project is less than 1 year old feel free to ignore this question)The publication developed within the project addresses global development issues in youth work through participatory, dialogue-oriented and experiential methodologies. It is structured in 6 chapters, representing different commodities related to the everyday lives of young people: Water, Tobacco, Chocolate, Textiles, Mobile Phones and Meat. The products are used as a starting point for exploring global realities and global interdependence. Each chapter consists of background info on the issue, 2 activities to explore it followed by 3 activities getting deeper with the issue. A further information section with links and resource can be found. At the end of the toolkit there is Get Active part
