13. Project background: Why is the project taking place? Why is the need form the project?At the centre of this project is the problem of tax dodging that costs developing countries $160bn a year. We need changes at a national, regional and international level to eliminate the structural causes of global poverty, inequality and unequal development.

(If you project is less than 1 year old feel free to ignore this question)We expect to collect 500,000 petition signatures supporting public CBCR by end of 2016; overall more than 800,000 actions have been taken to support progresive tax reforms; we have targeted more than 1000 decision-makers on national/EU level with progressive policy asks; number of governments have made progressive legislative changes largely as a result of public pressure; we did a very successful Tax tour bringing 10 activists from the global south to Europe and talk about impact of tax injustice on developing countries with well attended high level event at the European Parliament at the end; many Project Partners have become go-to voice of civil society on tax justice issues.
