13. Project background: Why is the project taking place? Why is the need form the project? | Due to the dynamics of local and global, we should be aware of the power of our everyday actions in making the world a better/worse place. If more people become aware of their potentials, there will be stronger forces to find solutions and greater contribution to achieve sustainable development. Together with campaigns to change behaviours, education is one of the most strategic means for people to gain understanding of the interaction between the social, economic and ecological dimentions |

22. Please give a short description of the major result or success of the project so far. (If you project is less than 1 year old feel free to ignore this question) | Through GAIA, people from more social sectors have been engaged as active advocates of local actions for global development. The project has helped improve target groups' knowledge and pedagogic competences in ESD, to address the global, social aspects of sustainable development in relation to Fair Trade. By the improved competence, and the facilitation to develop new tools to effectively implement initiatives for behaviour change, the target groups have in their turn been able to work in new and innovative ways to reach a wider public among the final beneficiaries. The intensified discussions on sustainable development have inspired more businesses and individual consumers to support sustainable development through Fair Trade |
