13. Project background: Why is the project taking place? Why is the need form the project?Students of 2nd Chance rarely confronted with topics of development education. Mostly young adults with a migration and/or difficult social background and small support to obtain a sound education from their families. in 2nd Chance curricula issues such as globalisation and development education are practically non-existent. In cooperation with teachers and NGOs engaged in dev. ed., workshop modules on different topics of sustainable consumption elaborated and implemented to fill this gap.

22. Please give a short description of the major result or success of the project so far. (If you project is less than 1 year old feel free to ignore this question)The five training modules developed (see: knowyourlifestyle.eu) are certainly the most important achievement, underlining the project’s high degree of relevance, contributing to its effectiveness and providing for impact and longer-term sustainability. The materials were responding to a demand hitherto unmet, particularly in Slovenia and Estonia, where teaching materials on the topic of Sustainable Consumption in the local language were not readily available. Moreover, the project managed the official integration of materials/methodologies developed into the formal Second Chance-curricula in Austria where these were recently revised by the government. It laid solid foundations to reach this objective also in the other project countries.
