13. Project background: Why is the project taking place? Why is the need form the project?The 2008 Accra Agenda for Action identified that development is not just about aid but about addressing the root causes of poverty. Make the link will develop awareness and understanding amongst European students of the role of science and technology in poverty reduction; the inequalities in access to technologies in Europe and the South, and the interdependence between actions in Europe and the impact on the rest of the world. This will motivate them to make pro-poor lifestyle choices.
