13. Project background: Why is the project taking place? Why is the need form the project? | The management of natural resources, poverty eradication and sustainable consumption and production are the basis of sustainable development. It is acknowledged that a decent life for all cannot be achieved without fundamental changes in the way the global society produces and consumes. This project focuses on the link between (over-) consumption and unsustainable production patterns of raw materials in Europe, and poverty, conflict, and environmental destruction in resource rich countries. |

22. Please give a short description of the major result or success of the project so far. (If you project is less than 1 year old feel free to ignore this question) | A strong conflict mineral regulation has been supported by the EU Parliament in May 2015, which was a great success already at the beginning of the project. This was because of the strong lobby work by European CSOs, inluding our project. So far about 50.000 people have signed the project petition asking their Member States for a strong EU conflict mineral regulation. Additionally we have implemented many successful activities like international conferences, Green Go Short Film Contest, cultural exhibition and street theater, European week of action, publications, media work, journalist fact finding missions and speakers tours, workshops & lectures. |
